ZEPA ROUTE

It is a hiking route that starts in the Ribera and reaches the Cerro Hornachuelos archaeological site with a distance of 7.71 km, which takes approximately 2.30 hours. and whose coordinates are LAT: 38º33'11.46''N and LONG 6º14'2.13 ”W. Part of its route runs adjacent to the old Cañada Real Leonesa, one of the canyons of the plateau of traditional use in the transhumance and has its origins in the province of León and its southern tip in the province of Badajoz.

The route starts from the Peña de la Mora path and runs through a diverse and pleasant area. During its tour, you can see pastoral huts, Moorish orchards, old farmhouses and a great diversity of species, having a hunting area and a kestrel primilla, for whose habitat it uses open environments, selecting traditional agropastoral systems for this, as well as an area of bird watching. As for the fauna, vultures, owlets, gray herons, foxes, genets, hares and partridges among others predominate in these places.
