FATHER DIEGO MARTÍNEZ (1542-1626)
Born in Ribera del Fresno in 1542 and after joining the company of Jesus, he was a missionary in the Americas in the regions of Chaco, Paraguay and Tucumán. He was sent to the famous Juli mission until 1584. In 1599 he was rector of the La Plata college.
