MARTÍN DE TORDESILLAS (XV century)
Martín de Tordesillas was Commander of Ribera del Fresno, for 40 years (1458-1498). This encomienda had the one of Aceuchal added, united both populations constituted a very extensive encomienda, and housed a population close to 800 neighbors, which made it one of the most populated in absolute terms. At the beginning of 1498, he resigned the encomienda, citing among other reasons his advanced age. He was succeeded by his son Juan Rengel de Mendoza. He had his house next to what was "Ermita de Santa Cecilia". The most committed and costly issue he had to deal with was the Ribera fortress or fortress, which he had built since its inception. Said castle that he built, appears in the guestbook of the Order of Santiago in the year 1495, although references to its existence in 1604 are lost. His remains are found in the parish church "Nuestra Señora de Gracia" of Ribera del Fresno .
