NATURAL SPACES
Ribera del Fresno has several places to visit in its surroundings. Among which stand out:
-The "Hornachuelos site" (called Fornacis by the Greek writer Ptolemy), where the remains of a walled citadel with its network of streets and necropolis are appreciated.
-You also highlight the so-called "Cueva del Gitano".
We will also enjoy a huge waterfall on the Valdemedel stream known as "La Pesquera".
We must also highlight the importance for our people of visiting the place where San Juan Macías performed his first miracle: “El Pozo de San Juan Macías”.
On the outskirts of town we have a pillar of which there are few left in our region, known as "El Pilar del Caño".
We can also enjoy a very characteristic natural spot called “Cañada Real” that is part of one of the tourist routes in the town, being a proposed axis to see birds in the Tierra de Barros-Zafra River Bodión regions of the eastern part.
Another characteristic place that we can visit in the town is the one called: “Los Pilones or La Pontezuela”, which is a vestige of an old mill and a dam to move the water from the waterwheels of the neighboring orchards.
